History of ATFAB

In the 1970’s the Associated Students of Colorado State University contracted our first partnership with Transfort to ensure that students had easy access to their Fort Collins community. ATFAB was created on November 11th, 2015, by ASCSU Bill #4508. The bill, authored by Jason Sydoriak, ASCSU President, and Dakota Truitt, Director of Environmental Affairs, sought to create a student fee board for alternative transportation on campus. At the time, UTFAB and UFFAB were already seeing success as student boards managing specific fee areas. ASCSU charged ATFAB with two key responsibilities:

  • Oversee transit contracted services with the City of Fort Collins municipal bus service, Transfort.
  • Oversee on-campus transportation infrastructure and sustainability programming investments for the community of CSU.

Continuing the long partnership with Transfort, ATFAB was founded to take over the management of the intergovernmental agreement (IGA) between CSU and Transfort. The transportation infrastructure and sustainability programming investments were added to ATFAB’s responsibilities starting in the Spring of 2016, when the Student Fee Review Board officially established the Alternative Transportation Fee for ATFAB to manage.
